Deze kaart dient als laatste geplaatst te worden. Klimaatverandering kan reeds als (mede-)oorzaak gezien worden van conflicten, bijvoorbeeld in Rwanda en Syrië. In een wereld die al lijdt onder alle consequenties die in het Climate Fresk spel aan bod zijn gekomen, is het moeilijk om je voor te stellen dat gewapende conflicten vermeden kunnen worden. In 2007 kreeg het IPCC de Nobelprijs voor de vrede. Daar zijn goede redenen voor.
4Causes
Les inégalités économiques importantes, avec une concentration disproportionnée de richesse entre certaines élites et la population défavorisée, peuvent alimenter des tensions sociales. Ces tensions peuvent contribuer à l'émergence de mouvements de contestation ou à des revendications qui, dans certains cas, peuvent dégénérer en conflits armés. 1Other possible cause
Although conflicts may occur because of resources, they are not directly caused by climate change, rather by resource depletion or scarcity. The relationship can be made, but it is due more to politics than to the climate crisis.
2Other possible consequences
It's the final loop of the Club of Rome. All this will eventually regulate itself, but not necessarily peacefully. The players often make this link and sometimes propose to roll up the Fresk to connect the beginning and ending edges. Moreover, it is noteworthy that humankind appears in the first and last cards, but not in the middle of the Fresk.
Conflicts are often linked to fossil fuels, but the link is more the other way round.
